Rob Parton Big Band Columbus at Buckeye Lake July 2nd 4-6

On Saturday, July 2nd Rob Parton will assemble some of the finest musicians in Central Ohio to perform at Buckeye Lake from 4-6pm.

The musicians to be featured at this concert are:  Wes Orr, Bob Breithaupt, Doug Richeson, Matt James, Will Englund, Alex Burgoyne, Bryan Olsheviski, Steve Genteline, Sean Parsons, Erik Gimble, Ben Huntoon, Ryan Hamilton, Linda Landis, Andy Rice, Josh O'Maits

Rob Parton has been leading many Jazz Orchestras for many years including the Rob Parton Big Band in Chicago for over twenty-five years and is current Artistic Director of the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra.  The new Columbus band is very exciting as Parton moved to Columbus about five years ago to become professor of trumpet at Capital University and hasn’t been attempting to lead any groups in Columbus since moving to town.

Parton feels that this band is every bit as strong as his Chicago based unit.

The Rob Parton Big Band Columbus (RPBB), a new Columbus based 18-piece jazz ensemble that celebrates and represents the best of the big band tradition with a modern and original sound.  Through creative modern arrangers, the vast historical repertoire available today and the plethora of modern writers around the country, the band prides itself on hard swinging virtuoso ensemble playing comprised of some of the finest jazz musicians Columbus has to offer.

“The band is very strong in every section and proves to be a great musical release for all of the musicians involved.”

“I am really excited to present this band to the incredible Columbus Arts community.”
